WOW READ MORE BREAK, WORK, FFS.
Wow, this week was a BLAST! This was the best week-long celebration I have experienced in my life so far. Kudos to the Quadricentennial Office and all the people who made this celebration rock!
For the first time in my life, I saw lots of expensive cars with VIP plates, executives and ambassadors walking on the field, distinguished alumni (which made me feel somehow insecure because damn, will I someday look like that, looking so executive and stuff?) and all that shit you don’t see everyday. I got to see Lucio Tan when he visited the Tan Yan Kee building! And oh, I almost held the hand of Father Rector dela Rosa to receive his blessing but well, dammit he was talking to Lucio Tan and some executives.
The happiest part, as usual, was the fireworks display. This time, IT’S A FUCKING MULTIPOSITION PYROMUSICAL DISPLAY! It was short compared to the usual UST fireworks display though. But well, it was the grandest fireworks display that I have ever seen. This week, UST didn’t give bitches one fireworks display. Instead, UST gave 3. FUCKING 3 GRAND FIREWORKS DISPLAY THIS WEEK. First, the Quattromondial Momument unveiling with Piolo Pascual and Charlene Gonzales whose faces were the models of the monument; Second, the Q Grand Program which gave me goosebumps and still giving me goosebumps every time I watch the video of it; Third, the Q Grand Dinner which was the ultimate alumni homecoming of UST for this year which I heard was even more grand than the previous display like wow, I can’t imagine something even more grand than that! Too bad I missed it! It was also a pyromusical display but this time, the fireworks came from the Main Building! Gah! Imagine the epicness of that scene! ;_;
So yeah anyway, after the very solemn mass which was very highfalutin because of the gathering of loads of important people (ehem, cardinals and bishops of the International Council of Universities of Saint Thomas Aquinas, the president of which is our very own Father Rector)
Okay, let’s organize my Quadri Week stories according to the events I attended, lol.
Q Parade
I didn’t intend to join this parade because I wanna watch Cheermania XVI but well because my orgmates are going to cover it, I joined them. IT WAS SO EPIC, trolling the motorists of Manila because of the parade that we were doing. We did the parade on Espana (my laptop can’t do the alt+164! ugh), Morayta, Recto and gah I forgot the name of other major road (to think that I walk along that road everyday, OTL). We crossed the always chaotic Legarda st, which made even more chaotic because of our parade, hahaha. We crossed Mendiola, and I think they even crossed the Lacson- Espana intersection which is like, a very major intersection, because it is the main route for buses and jeepneys going to Manila from Quezon City and vice versa, and huge trailer trucks going to NLEX from Makati. Plus, Lacson is a very hassle road, having lots of stoplights and whatnots. Anyway, my orgmates and I took the shortcut from there because we have to take an aerial shot of the parade. Super fun and tiring.
Q Grand Program
Fuck yeah, I finished my Operations Research class that ended 7pm before going to this program. XD It was really not my intention to cover this event because I wanna have fun and relax being the audience. But well, who could resist the VIP pass? XD So I did the photog job to back-up our photog who has dying battery. I was on the stage, LOL. It was epic. Jamie Rivera was literally beside me. Hahaha. Also, my position made my view of the fireworks magical.
Q Thanksgiving Mass and Q Fiesta
Well, attending eucharistic celebrations has been really awkward for me because first of all, I haven’t received the first communion, lol. So yeah, imagine the awkwardness of your orgmates falling in line to get the communion while you are outside the line and they go ????? or maybe even worse, ask you about your religion preferences or something like that. I don’t really like talking about religion ok. Because I got my first line of 7 in my entire history of being a student on a Theology subject, lol LOL that’s not the reason. So yeah anyway, it was an Italian cardinal who lead the celebration and he was like “Ze Univerzity of Santo Tomaz…” Cool. Also, there were lots of Latin songs that made my nose bleed like hell. Figuratively. Also, there was a short message from the pope, the highlight of the mass actually. :) And I don’t know what happened to the plenary indulgence, lol.
MOVING ON TO THE BEST PART OF THE DAY… The QUADRI FIESTA!
I gave that bitch lechon and fireworks. Bitches love lechon and fireworks. -UST
There were lechong baboy, manok and even baka! TOO BAD I was not able to taste lechong baka, it was the first food to be consumed to the last bone. I wanna taste lechong baka. I haven’t tasted one yet. UNLIMITED LECHOOOOON DAMMIT. So we were asked to bring our own utensils and let all gluttonous hell break loose. Hell yeeeeah. I took home a lunch box full of lechon and fucking lechon skin, and like, 4 or 5 chicken slices from Max’s. Aw, UST. Sharing your blessings and stuff. My heart is filled with joy. You made me fall in love with you even more. No Ck, I am not cheating on you. Lol. Just in case you get to read this. XD
So anyway, great celebration! Congratulations to all the admin and student volunteers who made this happen! Super proud to be a Thomasian! Feels so blessed to be in this university in its 400th year!
